We have ended CWG Gold Coast on a good note ... These are our second highest Gold medals tally OUTSIDE India and overall third highest Gold medals tally ... But interesting stats shared by #IndianOlympics and @BrandNachiketa (on twitter) - 15 of the 30 Golds at #Manchester2002 came from Shooting Pairs (8); Weightlifting Snatch (3) and Weightlifting Clean and Jerk (3); those events currently discontinued ... Without them, we had 15 Gold medals in Manchester ... Similarly, 15 of the 38 Golds at #Delhi2010 came from Shooting Pairs(7), Archery (3), Greco-Roman Wrestling (4) and Tennis (1) ... So comparing it with #GC2018 gives us an updated figure of 23 Gold medals from Delhi.

Based on currently active events
#GC2018
(26) improvement over
#Delhi2010
(23) and
#Manchester2002
(15)

More importantly, this time we are seeing really many positives and talents, who can bring a lot of glory in near future ... Impressed with youngsters like - Manika Batra in Table Tennis; Neeraj Chopra in Javelin; Manu Bhaker, Anish Bhanwala and Mehuli Ghosh in shooting; Gaurav Solanki, Manish Kaushik, Naman Tanwar and Amit Panghal in boxing; Bajrang Punia, Pooja Dhanda and Divya Kakran in wrestling; Hima Das, Jinson Johnson and Tejswin Shanker in athletics; Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in badminton.

Saina again showed her supremacy over Sindhu and defeated her in tightly fought straight games to lift CWG Gold medal ... Srikanth's poor performance in the big tournament continued, as he failed to repeat his team tournament's performance against Lee Chong Wei ... Srikanth lost after winning the first game, Lee dominated last two games ... Satwik-Chirag lost against experienced British pair in straight games ... Chirag looked nervous on the court and Britsh pair took advantage of it ... Still, good performance by our young pair and Saina.

In Squash women's doubles, Dipika and Joshna settled with Silver as New Zealand pair defeated them in straight games in the Gold medal match.

Manika Batra won her fourth medal of this CWG partnering Sathiyan Gnanasekaran ... They won Bronze beating compatriots Sharath Kamal and Mouma Das convincingly in MXD.

Achanta Sharath Kamal won Bronze beating British paddler, Samuel Walker, in men's singles.
